I have been a coach for 20 years. Granted it hasn't been at the professional level, but I have always had the knack of evaluating my teams talent and finding the right combinations. You can't look at dollar value rather look ay play and results. If the avalanche practiced and played a game with the following combinations. I know it would produce results and we could make a run.
Leave Duchene line alone.
2nd line should be Landeskog/O'Reilly/Palushaj. (Palushaj has speed, good hands, and a great wrist shot. Would fit perfectly here)
3rd line Mitchell/Stasny/Hejduk (all 3 are good defensively. Hejduk has hands and scoring ability, Stasny the passer, Mitchell the hard work in corners and front if net.)
4th line Cody MAC/ Chuck/Jones (I know Home is making top 6 money but he is not producing so its 4th line it healthy scratch until he starts to earn it)

I promise these Combinations would produce results given the chance.
