Every day someone comes up to me and asks what’s going on with the NBA labor situation? I give them my standard answer “ the two sides are negotiating and I hope they reach a fair settlement soon”.
The next question I invariably get is, “what are you working on now?
I tell them “a little bit of everything”!
Recently I was out in Manhattan Beach California announcing Pro Beach Volleyball. With the London Olympics less than a year away, it was fun to get back in the game I grew up on. In the next month I will call three more beach tournaments, two in Miami, and the season finale in Hermosa Beach California.
Prior to hitting the beach, I worked 7 Colorado Rapids soccer games and had a ball. I hope “the Burgundy” will stay hot and go all the way to the MLS Championship.
Did I tell you that I just got my college football schedule?
That’s right—4 Big Sky Conference games featuring the likes of Northern Colorado, Weber State and Eastern Washington. Scott Hastings will be my color man—can’t wait to hear Hasty get on those football officials!
I also have one high school football assignment—and it’s a beauty—Longmont and Loveland—a battle royal in prime time.
Finally, in addition to my TV assignments, I’ve found time to be a volunteer assistant volleyball coach at Arapahoe High School. My daughter Grace is a setter there and I hope by the end of the season we have won state and she is still talking to me!
Hey Chris, just wanted to see your take on the Nuggets future post-Lockout. I am an avid nuggets fan and watch every game, and love hearing you and Scott talk NBA. Our PG looks good with Lawson starting and the vet Miller to mentor him while providing solid minutes. And Gallinari is going to be a beast in a few years so glad to have him on board. The bird is slowing down it seems after his monster year in 09' but I hope will still flap his wings a little more. And I think our rookies are going to be solid. But the free agents, Nene didnt extend the contract in June so i dont know his deal, and Martin, Chandler, and Smith have all signed with China for the time being. Martin is old anyways and Smith is out of control and Chandler didnt show up like I hoped he would. Where do you see the nuggs going post lockout? positive? negative? rebuild mode? I would like to see your opinion. Thanks and hope to see you in Pepsi Center very soon
